Miss Jeanne Farmer currently resides in Warwick, RI. Miss Farmer, a Cellist, grew up in North Kingstown, RI and comes from a very musical family. She has been involved with the music at Quidnessett Baptist Church since she was little – singing in the youth choirs and playing her cello. She attended Rocky Hill School in East Greenwich and graduated from No. Kingstown High School. During her growing up years, she was a member of the Rhode Philharmonic Youth Orchestra (RIPYO) starting in the 4th grade through high school. She also was a member of RI Solo & Ensemble Festival and the RI Allstate Festival Youth Orchestra, in which she was principal cello two years. She has studied with 6 cello teachers and professors, all of whom were wonderful influences in her musical career. Miss Farmer attended Bob Jones University in Greenville, South Carolina; she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education from Rhode Island College in Providence. Miss Farmer currently is a member of the South Kingstown Community String Orchestra and in Troppi Celli (a cello quintet). She performs for weddings and other special events in the Southeast New England area.
Miss Farmer is very happy and blessed to a be a part of the New Era Center family, teaching beginning, intermediate, and advanced strings, Move to Music classes, and offering private strings lessons.
